The SVHC list has been updated to 247 items!

On January 21, 2025, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) added 5 substances under evaluation to the thirty-third batch of Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) candidate list. As a result, the SVHC candidate list was officially updated to include 247 substances.

 

The newly added SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) are as follows:

According to the REACH Regulation, if the SVHC in an article is >0.1% w/w, downstream users or consumers must be informed, fulfilling the obligation of information transmission. If the SVHC in the article is >0.1%, and the annual production or import volume of this SVHC exceeds 1 ton, notification must be made to ECHA. Additionally, according to the Waste Framework Directive (WFD Directive), from January 5, 2021, as long as the REACH SVHC substance in the article exceeds 0.1%, regardless of whether its annual export volume exceeds 1 ton, a SCIP notification must be submitted.
